Reproductions of items from the Photographic Archive are available for commercial use subject to the agreement of terms and fees.
All income generated from commercial image use helps to support the preservation and management of the collections. Some archive collections are available for use under Creative Commons licencing, please speak with a member of our team for further information.
The SJPA follows the guidance of the British Museum as to the definition of commercial use.
Examples of commercial use include but are not limited to:
- Charged for products or services.
- Promotion of charged for products or services.
- The communications or materials of commercial organisations.

Artistic works
Charges are applied only for image use in finished works. Prices are calculated on a case-by-case basis, considering sale value, editions and prominence of the archive materials used.
Administration Fee
£20 administration fee is applied to all commercial image reproduction orders.
United States of America
Due to US Government tax on transactions of this type, a minimum 30% surcharge is applied to all orders originating from the USA.
Discounts (all quoted figures are base rates; fees may vary depending on use)
Société Jersiaise Members, Corporate Members and affiliated organisations will receive an automatic 50% discount on commercial image reproduction prices. (USA order surcharge not included in this discount)
Automatic discounts are also applied to reproduction costs for orders of multiple images:
>10 = 10%; >20 = 15%; >30 = 20%
